Leon was a native of Lake Charles, LA. and former resident of Westlake, LA. He was a member of the Pentecostal Faith and a Graduate from Westlake High School. He was formerly a Surveyor for the State of Louisiana and previously worked the Black Bayou Ferry. Leon was a Singer, Songwriter, and Musician for Marcenac Music. He was the Editor of Cajun Music City News. Leon also enjoyed crabbing, fishing, walking the streets of Sulphur, and jam sessions with his friends playing his guitar.
He preceded in death by his son: Corrie Marcenac, his Parents: Earl and Grace Marcenac, and his brother: Ronnie Marcenac.
Those left to cherish Leon’s memory are his stepson: William Gallier of Westlake, LA.; stepdaughter: Stephanie Gallier of Westlake, LA.; the mother of his son: Debra Cohn; uncle: Darrell Istre of Houston, TX.; cousin: Lisa Elder and numerous other cousins, nephews and nieces.
The family has entrusted J.E. Hixson & Son’s Funeral Home with a private burial.
