

Vinton-Larry Joseph Thibodeaux, Sr., 76, passed away Friday, March 20, 2015 at a local hospital.
Larry worked in the oil field industry for most of his life. He enjoyed trapping, hunting and fishing. His greatest joy was being with his family. He was a man of strength and love which he showed to his family on a daily basis.
Those left to cherish his memory are his son, David Glen Thibodeaux of Vinton; his daughter, Judy Thibodeaux Bailey and husband, Ed of Moss Bluff; a brother, Calvin Thibodeaux of Hackberry; five grandchildren, Jennifer Thibodeaux Morgan and her husband Ash, David Thibodeaux, Jr. and his wife Kristen, Lucas Thibodeaux, Brandon Joseph Bailey and Hunter Joseph Bailey; three great grandchildren, Addison Morgan, Ashlee Morgan and Brantley Gage Thibodeaux; and a daughter-in-law and son-in-love, Gwen and John Douglas of Vinton. He is also survived by his best friends, Dale and Maryann Stewart.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years Verdie Mae Thibodeaux; his son Larry Joseph Thibodeaux, Jr.; his parents, Camille and Amy Thibodeaux; four brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 23, 2015 at 2pm at Hixson Funeral Home of Vinton. Burial will be at Mimosa Pines South in Carlyss. Visitation will begin Sunday, at 4pm till 9pm in the funeral home chapel with a rosary at 6pm and visitation will resume on Monday, from 8am till time of service. Pallbearers who will serve Larry are David Thibodeaux, Sr., John Douglas, David Thibodeaux, Jr., Brandon Bailey, Hunter Bailey and Lucas Thibodeaux.
