She was born in Roganville, TX on January 15, 1921. She was an elementary school teacher in Louisiana for 20 years.
She is survived by her son, Robert L. Miller of Connecticut, daughter-in-law, Faye Collins Miller; daughter, Nancy M. Alexander of Lake Charles; grandchildren, Bryan Alexander, Amanda Spence, Sandy Ferguson, Karine Heard; 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Miller, grandchild, Eric Miller and a great, grandchild.
Her funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday, November 19, 2011 at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. Rev. Charles E. Willis and Rev. Richard Watson will officiate. Pallbearers will be her grandson and 5 great, grandsons. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be today from 3-9 p.m. and again tomorrow from 8 a.m. til time of service.
