Linda (DeCook) Colletta, 79, of Lake Charles, Louisiana, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, March 16, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family and friends. Linda was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend whose warmth, strength, and kindness touched everyone she met.
Born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Linda grew up with a vibrant spirit and a deep love for her community. A proud graduate of LaGrange High School, she shone as a Gatorette before marrying Jerry Colletta in 1963. Their two greatest accomplishments together were raising their children Kent and Tony.
Linda’s life was centered around her two cherished sons and her passion for fashion. She was affectionately known as "Nana" to most and could often be found at the heart of her grandchildren’s lives, always offering her time, help, and an open heart. Linda’s warmth made everyone around her feel special and valued.
She had a keen eye for beauty and creativity, which she shared with others through her boutique, LeBells Women’s Apparel, and her years in retail sales. Above all, Linda’s greatest joy was the time she spent with her loved ones and the close friendships she nurtured throughout her life.
Linda is survived by her two beloved children, Kent (Annette) and Tony (Rhonda); her four grandchildren, Dustin (Johnah), Chase (Bianca), Mallory, and Ty; and her four great-grandchildren, Jack, Thomas, Marlee, and Cole. She is also survived by her dear sister, Amy Moore; her niece, Monica; her nephew, Chad; and their children. She now joins her parents, Bud and Bess DeCook, in eternal rest.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Keane O’Neal, Dr. Leroy Fredericks, and Glenda Andrepont for their compassion and support during Linda’s journey and final days.
Linda’s life was a testament to love, kindness, and the beauty of human connection. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew her.
The family will welcome the public for visitation at J. E. Hixson & Sons Funeral Home Thursday, March 20, 2024 from 10am until time of funeral service at 2pm. Interment will follow at Lacassine Cemetery.
