She loved Ms. Rachel and would smile so big when she would say 'MAMA'! Malika always loved to be cuddled and hugged but if she had to choose it was always her mama that she wanted. She was her mother's partner in crime. She would kick her little feet when she wanted her mom to do something for her or wanted something. Malika was a beautiful little girl and was half Haitian. The family would like to express how proud of her Haitian roots they were.
Malika's memory will be cherished by her parents, Sarina and Jean Merilus; grandparents and great grandparents, Elizabeth Lewis, Michael Stegall, Cassandra Lampkin, Melonie Lewis, Saundra Wright, and James Wright; sisters, Avana Merilus and Naweli Merilus; aunts, Aaliyah Dochow and Adonia Stegall; uncle Michael Reed; aunt, Andrea Heath; as well as numerous cousins and other family who deeply loved her.
The family would like to invite friends and relatives to Hixson Funeral Home Chapel of the Lilies for visitation beginning at 3pm for the public on Thursday, August 22, 2024.
A celebration of her life will be held at 4pm.
The family would like to ask those who attend if they would like to leave cards, words of encouragement and love, that they also acknowledge Malika's birthday, as services will be held on the same date.
