He was a graduate of River Oaks Academy in Belle Chase, LA. In 1968 and went on to attend McNesse College where he obtained a degree in Instrumentation. He taught instrumentation at Sowlea Tech for 1 ½ years. He retired from PPG in 2006 and he and his loving wife of 47 years, Charline, traveled visiting all the lower states.
Mike is survived by his loving wife; Charline Martin, sons; Michael (Peggy) Martin Jr., Matthew (Tessa) Martin, Martie Martin, 5 grandchildren, many nieces and nephews as well as close friends. He will be deeply missed and forever loved by all who knew him.
