Nelwyn was born December 7, 1928 to Otto and Retha Hicks in Robeline Louisiana.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Joe Kiback; two daughters, JoNell Kiback Trahan Blankenship and "Kitty" Kiback Sepulvado.
Those left to cherish her memory are daughter Donna Kiback Pyle, grandchildren; Cindy Trahan Cox, Eric Trahan, Tammie Sepulvado Newmister, and Joshua Sepulvado. Also six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandsons.
She proudly worked for South Central Bell starting as a service representative and retiring as a manager. She loved teaching from tutoring a son in law and grandchild through high school to teaching Sunday school.
Nelwyn loved to travel and took several trips to Europe and Hawaii in addition to driving family all over the United States. She also enjoyed to crochet, sew, and quilt.
She was a founding member of 12th Street Baptist Church, and was a current member of East Ridge Baptist Church
The family welcome the public for visitation Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at J. E. Hixson & Sons Funeral Home from 10am until time of funeral service at 1pm. Interment will follow at Highland Memory Gardens.
The family wish to acknowledge and thank the staffs of Dr. Steve Springer, Evangeline Home Health, the ER and ICU of St. Patrick Hospital, and Harbor Hospice.
