Patricia Ann Myers Powell

A lifelong resident of Lake Charles and the Moss Bluff community, Pat attended Lake Charles High School and graduated from Sowela Technical College as a LPN. She worked as an operating room nurse at St.Patrick Hospital; then as the personal nurse to Dr. Barham and Dr. Holcombe. She always maintained a love for her nursing profession.

Following her nursing career, Pat joined her husband as co-owner of K & D Service-Lift Truck Rental.

Pat was a loving mother, excellent cook, talented seamstress and loyal friend. She had a heart for senior citizens, calling to check on their well-being and preparing food.

Pat is survived by her husband of 59 years, W.B.(Bill) Powell; children, William Keith Powell of Moss Bluff and Deborah Ann Hansen of Spencer, IA; brothers, James Myers of Lake Charles; Jerry Myers of Las Vegas, NV; Ronnie Myers of Los Angeles, CA; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry Myers and Ernestine Touchet Myers, and her brothers Henry Myers, Jr. and Billy Myers.

There will be a visitation from 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 22, 2012 with a Life Celebration to follow at 2:00 p.m. led by Rev. Vernon Chevallier at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles.
