

Peggy, 69, died April 19, 2026, in Lake Charles, Louisiana. She was born on September 4, 1956, to Marvin T.L. Babb, Sr. and Willie Mae Meche. She was loved and cared for most of her life by her stepmother Dorothy Babb. Peggy worked for most of her life in the hospitality industry as a waitress and she was one of the best. Peggy had a gift for seeing the “unseen”.
She was preceded in death by her oldest son, Jeffrey Lynn Howard; her birth mother, Willie Mae Meche; her father, Marvin T. L. Babb, Sr.; her five brothers, Douglas Babb, Marvin T. Babb, Jr., Mitchell Babb, Randy McKlemurry, and Michael McKlemurry.
Survivors include her husband of 30 years, Kenneth Carman; her children, Kenneth (Jessica) Howard, Christopher (Staci) Howard, Misty (Kenny) Lewis/Bassett, and Ronald (Kim) Lewis; her grandchildren, Triston, Haylee (Jordan), Brandon, Elaina, Layton, Dillon, Buck, and Ellie-Mae; and one great-grandchild Tate. Her sisters, Wilda, Debbie, and Rosemary; and her brothers, Johnny, Adrian and David.
Peggy loved fiercely even if it was in solitude as one of her favorite songs go “I come to the garden alone, while the dew is still on the roses”.
