

She was a native of Ebarb, Louisiana, and she had lived in Lake Charles since 1946. Ruby was a member of Immaculate Conception Cathedral where she was in the Catholic Daughters of America since 1963. She graduated from Ebarb High School in 1938 and then continued her education at the LA Beauty College of Lake Charles until graduating in 1947. Ruby also graduated from The Arthur Murry School of Dance in 1986. She was a member of the Mardi Gras crew, Krewe de La Noblesse. She owned the Modern Beauty Shop from 1951 to 1995. She was a member of V.I.P. and Friendship Club.
Survivors include one brother, Orville Anthony Sepulvado and wife JoAnn of Moss Bluff; five sisters, Inez S. Seasock and husband Walter of Westlake, Edith S. Payne and husband Leonard of Lake Charles, Agatha S. Martinez and husband, G.J. "Pie" of Zwolle, Margaret S. Shreve of Moss Bluff and Joyce S. LeJeune of Lake Charles. She was preceded in death by her husband, Collier Simpkins; her parents, Jacob and Mary Sepulvado; her brother, Bert Sepulvado; and two sisters, Myrtie Miles and Della Remedies.
Her funeral will be at 11a.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. A graveside service will follow at Ebarb Cemetery near Zwolle, Louisiana at 3p.m. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4p.m. to 8p.m. with a rosary at 6p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Keith Martinez, Walter Seasock, Jr., Jared LeJeune, Boyd Miles, Wendell Sepulvado and Victor Sepulvado.
