Shirley "Shirl" Horn

She was a great person to be around; so alive with joy in her heart. She loved to take long walks in Drew Park and along the lake front. She also loved going crabbing in Cameron with her husband. She and Ray enjoyed working out at the gym. She was a loving and caring mother and grandmother. Shirl was born February 22, 1961 in Baytown, TX.

She is survived by her husband, Raymond "Ray" Horn; two sons, Travis Dodd and Scott Troyer; and one daughter, Deana Troyer; also left to morn her loss are her siblings, Tony, John, Clifton, Gene, Robert and Charles. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, John Thomas "J.T." Scott and Erlene Horseley Scott.

A gathering of Shirley's family and friends will begin on Thursday at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles from 6pm-9pm with her funeral service to follow at 10am Friday, March 7, 2014 at Hixson Funeral Home in Lake Charles, LA.
