

At the age of 19, Sim began a long career working in the local petroleum industry including Cities Service, Occidental, and Westlake Chemical; returning as a consultant after retirement.
Sim will be remembered for his devotion to his beloved wife Dora, his way with words, and playing on the floor with his grandchildren. Sim was a gentle, compassionate man who enjoyed the stories and laughter of his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all those who were fortunate enough to know him.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife Dora. Sim leaves behind his daughter Connie McDonald and husband Mike, two sons: David McCain and wife Faith, and Doug McCain and wife Paula; grandchildren Kate Ward, Bonny McDonald, Nancy McDonald, Brian McCain, Jennifer Swann, Sarah Negroni, Mason McCain, and Monique Reason; and 12 great-grandchildren.
The family offers gratitude to Dr. Ewane, Dr. Heinen , and especially Dr. Mohammad Kahn and his medical staff. Heartfelt thanks to devoted sitters Rose Sauls and Sandy Gaspard, Cathy McClure and Cindy Maitre , and Mary Richard and Kim Jacobs.
Visitation will take place at Hixson Funeral Home in Lake Charles on Tuesday May 30, 2017 from 9am until the time of service.
