

She graduated from Westlake High School then began her career at Citgo Refinery where she started her career as an operator in oil movement. During her 35+ year career, she advanced until she became the first female Shift Superintendent.
Susan enjoyed fishing, reading, working in her yard, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a devout Catholic and a member of St Margaret Catholic Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Amy Gause Brown; grandchildren, Shelby (Lavergne) Contreras and Kameron Chandler (Laura), and great granddaughters, Annora and Jonalin. She is also survived by her siblings, David Hollis (Sherry) and Mary Turner as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, V J Viator; her parents, Marvin and Anita Hollis; sister, Nancy Hansen; brother-in-law, Alan Turner; aunt and uncle, Jane and Joe Daigre; and nephew, Caleb Turner.
Funeral services will be at Hixson’s Funeral Home in Lake Charles on Saturday, March 7th at 11:00am. Visitation will begin at 9:00am with a rosary beginning at 10:30am.
The family would like to say thank you to Dr. Michael Bergeron for the compassionate care provided over the last 9 years. Thank you also to The Lodge, Lake Charles Care Center, and Harbor Hospice for their compassion and care at the end of her life.
