

She was born in 1924 to the late Conrad D. Hoffpauir and Mabel M. Hoffpauir (nee. Calliouet) in Rayne, LA., one of 13 children. Sybil never lacked for playmates. She married the love of her life, Henry Buquet in 1944 and together they raised 4 children.
Sybil always had an open door and welcomed many at her table for her wonderful cooking and conversation. An avid gardener she loved spending her time nurturing her flowers, picking her bouquets to place in her home. Sybil could be found at the American Legion most Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays playing Bingo. She had a wonderful collection of dolls that everyone could look at but not touch. She and her husband Henry operated B&M Machine Works and Grinding for 36 years. She had a great love of her family and devoted her life to their care. She will forever be missed and loved by all who knew her.
She is predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Henry Buquet Jr. and daughter; Mona (Faye) Bertrand, She is survived by daughter; Brenda (Cecil) Talbot, sons; Eric (Jackie) Buquet, Stephen ‘Jerry’ (Ramona) Buquet, 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 3 sisters; Betty Buquet, Phyllis Besse and Marie Richard, brother; Gerald Hoffpauir, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation to be held Tuesday June 14, 2016 from 5-8:00 pm with Rosary at 6:00 at Hixson Funeral Home, 3001 Ryan St., Lake Charles, LA. 70601. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at 10:00 at St. Henry’s Catholic Church, 1021 Eighth Ave., Lake Charles, LA 70601. Burial to follow at Consolata Cemetery.
