

She was a 7th grade student at Bell City High School. Taylor was very loved by all who knew her. She inspired many lives while fighting her 10 year battle with a cancer. She fought it with Grace only our Lord could give to her. To her, and to those that knew her, she was “kicking cancer’s butt”. She had many passions and dreams. She loved Paris and always wanted to visit there. Her dreams were to become a restaurant owner and chef.
She leaves to celebrate her life, her parents, Leon and Helena Folsom; two sisters, Lakyn and Camryn and one brother, Dayton; maternal grandparents, Richard and Patrice Brown; maternal grandmother, Helen Diamond and paternal grandparents, Cindy and Allen Breaux; maternal great grandmother, Peggy Brown; maternal great grandmother, Nita Diamond; maternal great grandmother, Patrica McDaniel; paternal grandmother, Flora Belle Breaux; aunts and uncles, Anita and Darrell Hebert, Richard Brown II and fiancé, Teresa Williams, Jacob and Nancy Johnson, Jessica and Bryan Guillot, Clifton Breaux and fiancé, Autumn Bertrand, Thomas Breaux, Allen Pope and Aaron Pope, Monica Breaux; cousins, Hunter and Abbygail Hebert, Aubrey and Alex Brown, Kaitlyn Johnson, Maleigha and Aaron Guillot, Zander, Jedda and Lane Breaux, Blake and Dillon Breaux.
She is preceded in death by her maternal great grandfather, D.W. Brown; maternal great grandfather, Warren Lee Diamond; paternal great grandfather, Clifton Lawrence Breaux; paternal great grandfather, Robert Lee Mays Sr., and paternal great grandmother, Thelma Mays.
Taylor lived a very accomplished life of 12 years. Taylor was very involved in the community. She represented our local Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) organization in 2008 as a Miracle Kid for Southwest Louisiana. She attended radio thons and tele-thons to help raise money for our local CMN hospital. In 2011 she was bestowed the honor of representing the State of Louisiana as the CMN Ambassador. With this honor, she was given the opportunity to attend Disneyworld for the annual CMN Celebration. Taylor was able to mingle with many celebrities such as Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck 2011 Miss America Teresa Scanlan, Mark Wills, Meredith Vieria and David Archuletta. She then traveled by chartered jet to Washington D.C. where she visited the Smithsonian Museum and the White House. She also had a dinner cruise on the Potomac River.
In 2012 she was asked by Mayor Randy Roach to be his escort for Mardi Gras’ Twelfth Night Celebration. She has also been able to spend time with the Mayor as Mistress of Ceremonies at the Light up the Lake event. He presented Taylor with several proclamations for CMN and also for her becoming the “manager for a day” at Rotolo’s Pizzeria recently.
She lived a very active life and loved sports. She was a member of AWEsome Association in Sulphur where she played softball for 7 years and got the opportunity to play softball with the famous Jennie Finch and other members of the National Pro Fastpitch League. She played soccer in Lake Charles for 4 years, where she was given the title of “soccer queen” by her family. She also joined the basketball team and loved every minute of it. Not only did she participate in sports she was also a special guest assistant coach for Bridge City Little Dribblers in Bridge City, TX, with her uncle Chris. It’s a job which she took very seriously.
She has been an inspiration to countless others and has taught them the lesson that you should live each day to the fullest.
Pallbearers for Taylor’s service will be; Leon Folsom (father), Richard Brown (grandfather), Richard Brown II (godfather), Chris Mays (uncle), Clifton Breaux (uncle), Charles Hutchins (cousin), Honorary Pallbearers will be Matthew Thibodeaux (cousin) and Cody Hutchins (cousin).
A Celebration of Life service will be 3pm, Thursday, July 25, 2013 at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. Pastor Bart Leger will officiate. The family will receive quest for visitation on Wednesday at 10am- 8pm and resume Thursday 9am until service time. Interment will be in Highland Memory Gardens.
