Vera Marie Murphy Miller

She was a native and lifelong resident of Creole. Vera was a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church. She was married to her loving husband, Clifford for 44 years. In her spare time she enjoyed reading. Vera was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and great grandmother.

Survivors include two daughters, Linda Conner and husband Robert "Bobby" of Lake Charles and Cherly Murphy of Houston; daughter by choice, Diane Barnes of Houston; one sister, Willa Dean LeBouef and husband George of Grand Lake; four grandchildren, Jennifer Murphy Halper, Christopher Scott Murphy, Kenton Todd Conner and Lynsi Conner Bellene; eight great grandchildren; and two grandchildren by choice, Holly Joy Kilpatrick and Lincoln Wayne Kilpatrick. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbert and Anita Nunez Murphy; her husband, Clifford A. Miller; her brother, David Murphy and a son-in-law, Ronald Murphy.

Her funeral will be at 11a.m. Saturday, November 2, in St. Margaret Catholic Church. Father Jeffery Starkovich will officiate. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Creole under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. Visitation at the funeral home is from 4p.m. until 9p.m. Friday with a Rosary at 7p.m. and will resume Saturday morning from 9a.m. until time of service.
