She was a native of Yellow Pine, TX and resided in Elizabeth for 30 years before moving to Lake Charles. She was a graduate of Elizabeth High School. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son, Ernie D. Johnson and wife Nora; daughter, Janet Calhoun and husband, Larry of Sulphur; brother, Clifton Lee Mitchell Jr. of Pitkin, LA; sister, Annie Ruth Maricle of Pitkin; 3 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Her funeral will be 1:30 P.M. Monday, January 21, 2013 at First Baptist Church of Elizabeth. Visitation will begin Sunday 9am-9pm at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles and resume Monday 9am until time of service at the Church in Elizabeth.
