Willie Nell Kebodeaux, 93, of Sulphur, passed away on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at her residence. She was born to her late parents, Noah and Adelaide Fruge on August 2, 1928 in Sunset, LA. She enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, canning fruits, dancing, cooking, and sharing jokes with friends. She was affectionately known as Maw Maw Willie by all who knew her.
She is survived by her loving husband, Wallace Kebodeaux; her children, Dennis Murray (Cindy) of Shreveport, Charlotte Ellender of Sulphur, Mitch Young (Christine) of Lake Charles; nine grandchildren, Kristin LeBoeuf (Clint), Lori Young, Amy Judice (Garrett), Kimberly Ramsey (Chris), Amanda Sonnier, Nina Sonnier, Aaron Young, Stacey Boothe (Heath), Rachel Smith (Josh); and eleven great grandchildren, Trinity, Grayson, Nyla, Riley, Reid, Emersyn, Lucas, Brantley, Weston, Kristen, and Maverick.
Willie is preceded in death by her son, David Young; and her son-in-law, Larry Ellender.
Services will be held at Hixson Funeral Home in Lake Charles on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at 10:00am, with Pastor Steve Avera and Pastor Larry Gandy officiating. Visitation will be at Hixson Funeral Home in Lake Charles on Tuesday, September 7, 2021, from 5:00pm until 8:00pm. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Wednesday from 9:00am until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Prien Memorial Park Cemetery.
