Alex Phillips, age 27, of Grand Rapids passed unexpectedly at his home on Monday, September 28, 2015. He was born to Edwin Phillips and Mary (Dodds) Johnson on March 6, 1988 in Grand Rapids, MI. Alex was a 2006 Northview High School graduate and an all-state wrestler. He was a veteran of the War Afghanistan serving in the US Army Infantry. Alex was a loving husband to Abby Phillips and will be dearly missed by all that knew him. He leaves behind a large family and many friends. A private memorial will be held at Koops Funeral Chapel. Memorial donations in Alex’s name can be given to the Lakewood Wrestling Club or to the family.
