On the morning of February 27th, 2025, Alice Louise Wernette, at the age of 86, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving husband & family, after losing the battle to cancer. Born August 1st, 1938, to Merril & Beatrice Strimback, she was 1 of 8 children. Alice lived a wonderful life filled with many blessings. She was the best wife, mother, and grandmother. She fell in love and married Vincent Kay Wernette in 1969, and they raised 7 children together. Alice was then blessed, yet again, with grandchildren and great grandchildren. She had a hand in raising just about all of them, as well as being foster parents to many children through the Catholic social service. From then on Alice spent her days loving, caring, providing, & nurturing the beautiful family she helped create. She was known for her love, strength, sense of humor, generosity, kindness, and touched so many lives throughout her lifetime. She was a rock, a safe space, a sounding board, and so much more, for so many people. Alice loved to be in the sun and loved to be warm. She was her happiest outside on a hot summer day, surrounded by her family, with a diet coke in hand, admiring her flowers.
She will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her, and she will be dearly missed by her surviving members, husband and love of her life, Vincent Wernette, children, Carol Hendrick (George), Terry Furlong (Sharon), Jim Furlong (Sue), Fredia Wernette, Shawn Wernette (Anita), Tammy Lopez, 16 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and her favorite little kitty, Oreo.
