Caleb Louis Klotz, age 31, of Sunfield, MI passed away peacefully on July 18th, 2025 after a courageous battle against cancer. He was surrounded by his beloved wife and family. Born November 21, 1993 in Grand Rapids, MI, the eldest son of Steve and Sheri (McCloud) Klotz.
Caleb was married to Kacandra on September 9, 2017. They have two beautiful daughters, Wray Lynn, age 8, and Ivy Francis, age 3, who they have raised on their family farm in Sunfield. Caleb was an active member of their community involved in the Sunfield Spies, Farmers Picnic, the USDA, and the Sunfield Fire Department.
A man of many things, he put his family first and farming second- finding purpose in every furrow he carved and every seed he sowed alongside his father and brother. Caleb enjoyed filling his mother’s days with laughter, love, and jokes only a son and mother could understand back at their shop. Riding in the combine with his girls, racing with his Grandpa Mel, Uncle Ron, and cousin Jake, hunting in the fall, snowmobiling through the winter, and nightly rides to check his crops were a few of the things he loved doing most. But what brought Caleb the most joy was watching his children and crops grow.
Caleb loved fiercely and without hesitation when it came to his family, especially his wife and kids. His hands may have been rough from his life’s hard work, but they were kind and always lending to anyone in need- making him a man you may have only encountered once, but one you’d never forget. A man with hands that could fix anything and a heart that held so much love. Caleb was the laughter and light that could turn enemies into friends. He was a warrior who fought for his family until the end, even if that was borrowed time. He may have left us down here on earth, but not before he taught us all how to live with courage and love. Although he will be missed by many, his presence will remain in every smile and vibration of laughter.
He is survived by his loving wife Kacandra (Holland) Klotz, his two daughters Wray and Ivy Klotz, his parents Steve and Sheri (McCloud) Klotz, brother Hayden (Lisa) Klotz, parents-in-law Brian and Heidy Holland, sisters-in-law Erika Holland and Sara Holland (Robert Lee Cobb IV), grandmother Jackie Feess, grandparents-in-law John (Nancy) Wilcox, Paul (Barbara) Holland, nephew and niece Hudson and Hadley Jackson, many uncles, aunts, and cousins in his close knit family, as well as lots of friends.
He is preceded in death by his grandfathers Keith Klotz, Donald Feess, and Melvin McCloud, his grandmother Sandy (Haddix) McCloud, aunts Brenda Klotz-Makley and Susie McCloud, and many great grandparents.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Hands of Hope through the Center of Cancer and Hematology Center of West Michigan to honor Caleb and his strong desire to help support cancer patients. This foundation holds a dear place in the hearts of the Klotz and Holland family because it helps those fighting the same battle that Caleb so courageously fought. They help cover many costs for families including prescriptions, treatment costs, Christmas costs, etc. There has been an account established in Caleb's memory, donations can be made at Portland Federal Credit Union in Kacandra Klotz's name to help support his family in their time of need.
