I was one of Dave's nurses. He was an absolute favorite of mine - we'd joke and laugh much of the time. In the last week that I had him I started giving him a hug goodnight - a gesture only reserved for my most special patients. He was an exceptionally kind and patient man and it was an honor to care for him. I learned of his passing severals days later while sitting at the nurse's station one evening. I broke down then and there and was a mess for an hour. His spirit and laughter touched many and I'm so sorry he was plucked so early to go home. We are saddened to learn of Dave's passing. We have great memories of good times w/Dave and some of his children. There was the New Year's Celebration at a hotel in GR w/our families sharing space on the same floor..so much fun. Then all the baseball that Dave and Jim coached, with the teams winning alot more games than losing.Dave could certainly teach the game. To the Tidball family,   I am so sorry for your loss, Dave was a great role model for not only his children but all parents who knew him. Over the years Matt spent many a night at our house as Kyle did his. Dave used to take a whole car load of boys to a hotel 2-3 times per year and he loved every minute of it. I remember him coaching ball teams when his kids were younger. his children were very blessed to have such a loving father. May you all find comfort in the many wonderful memories that you had with him. I have been so blessed over the past few months to have met Dave. He was truly a delight to know and a blessing to me. We would spend most days talking about sports and reminiscing  about coaching and parenting. Dave had a strong love for people children and humor. My deepest sympathy to family and he will be missed. So sorry to find out about this. I went to high school with Kate and Jennifer and have fun memories of running cross country with Katie. Saw the obituary in the Hastings paper, above my own Dad's obituary. He passed away the very same day. I know what you are going through, as your Dad was also a remarkable Christian man. I want to express my sympathy to the Tidball family in the loss of a husband, father, grandfather.  At Remnant Ministries the "Tidball" name is held in high esteem.  This is a family rich in service for the Lord Jesus Christ!  Although I did not know David personally, I read his obituary knowing that he is a man of God.
