Dorla L. Lancaster

Dorla "Dodo" L. (Wood) Lancaster, age 61, of Sunfield, passed away Saturday, July 16, 2011 at Pennock Hospital in Hastings. She was born August 9, 1949 in Hastings. She was raised in the Clark Lake and Lake Odessa area and graduated from Lakewood High School. She was married on September 5, 1986 to David Lancaster. Dorla worked in the home health care field and before her retirement had been employed at the Mulliken Adult Foster Care Home. She enjoyed planning family get togethers, gardening, cooking and spoiling her grandchildren. Dorla was preceded in death by her father, Gary J. West and granddaughter, Desiree L. Nummer. Surviving is her husband, David Lancaster of Sunfield; mother, Hilda G. West of Sunfield; daughter, Jodi (Wood) Smith and husband Steve Smith of Gulf Shores, Alabama, Jolene Misner of Sunfield; 7 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren and 1 much anticipated great grandchild on the way; sister, Kris Stephens and Andy Eastridge of Lake Odessa; brother, David West and Lori Root of Ionia; stepchildren, Robin Lancaster Easy and husband Randy, David M. Lancaster and wife Kandy. Visitation with the family will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at Koops Funeral Chapel – Lake Odessa. Funeral services for Dorla will be conducted at 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at Koops Funeral Chapel – Lake Odessa. Interment to follow at Woodland Memorial Park.
