

Joan Lou (Rohrbacher) King, 88, of Lake Odessa, passed away on January 5, 2017 at Woodlawn Meadows with her family by her side in Hastings, MI. She was born on July 31, 1928 to Charles and Maude (Martin) Van Geisen at Battle Creek, MI. She was a graduate of Hastings High School. Joan and Lawrence made their home in Odessa Township raising 5 children, until his passing in 2000. She was an active member of Central United Methodist Church, especially taking joy in the Alethians group for many years. As a homemaker, Joan enjoyed canning, sewing, playing card and board games. Weaved into all Joan did was her love and joy of family friends and faith.
In 2006, she married Theron King, a family friend of 50 years. Together they spent 5 happy years.
Joan is survived by children, Alan (Stephanie) Rohrbacher, Gordon Rohrbacher, Michael (Sharon) Rohrbacher, Connie (Bruce) Gutheridge, Carol (Dennis) Seifferlein; 11 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by father, Charles Van Geisen, mother, Maude Martin, spouse, Lawrence Rohrbacher, brother, Martin Van Geisen, granddaughter, Sarah Rohrbacher.
Visitation will be held Monday, January 9, 2017, 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Koops Funeral Chapel, Inc., Lake Odessa, MI.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 10, 2017, at 11am at the Koops Funeral Chapel, Lake Odessa, MI. Burial will take place next to her husband Lawrence in Lakeside Cemetery, Lake Odessa, MI.
