Matthew James Wright

Matthew James Wright, age 71, of Ionia, Michigan passed away on Saturday, February 5, 2022. Matthew was born December 18, 1950 to Clifford and Christina (Robinson) Wright in Fremont, MI. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Matthew worked as a truck driver and won many awards for his safe driving including a 1994 Dodge Dakota Sport from Gainey Transportation. He was a hardworking man who loved the Lord, which lead him to be a Chaplin with Truck Stop Ministries. Matthew’s children and grandchildren brought great joy and laughter to his life. In his down time Matthew enjoyed woodworking, painting, wire bending and leather work.

He will be dearly missed by; his wife Judy, children; Elizabeth (Scott) Lumbert, Maria (Ashley) McGinnis and Clifford (Jillian) Wright, grandchildren; James (Breanna) Palmer, Kaelyn Schrader, Danika Palmer, Kenzie Titus, Alivia Wright, siblings; Leona (Art) Bennett, Crystal (Bob) Thomas, Esther (Rich) DeVormer, Sarah (Jim) Boerma, Andrew Wright and Michael (Robin) Wright, step sons Anthony Lancioni and Vincent Lancioni along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Matthew wanted everyone to know that he was saved by GOD and that you can be as well.

According to his wishes, cremation has taken place, and inurnment will happen in Ft. Custer National Cemetery at a later date.
