Nancy Mae Cunningham, age 92, of Lake Odessa, Michigan passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday, December 4, 2021. Nancy was born October 9, 1929 in Odessa Township to Roy and Edna Winey. She was a graduate of Lake Odessa High School class of 1948. After graduation she worked for Piston Ring in Hastings for a few years. On February 22, 1953 Nancy married Dale Cunningham and he preceded her in death on August 9, 2014. Nancy and Dale loved to travel; they visited all 50 states as well as several of the Canadian Provinces and cruised the full length of the Panama Canal. Nancy was a homemaker, den mother of Cub Scouts, helper for Brownies and worked 13 years in food preparation at the Lakewood High School. She was a member of the Lakewood U.M. Church, Lake Odessa Area Historical Society, Life Member of V.F.W Post 4461 Auxiliary, Life member of Michigan Association of Retired School Personnel.
Nancy will be dearly missed by her children; Bill (Dean Londo) Cunningham, Carol (Thomas) Sprague, brother Elmer (Delores) Winey, grandchildren Thomas Sprague III, Michael Sprague and Katherine (Joe) Burke-McAllister.
Visitation will be held at Koops Funeral Chapel on Thursday, December 9, 2021 from 5pm until 8pm. Funeral services will be held at the Lakewood United Methodist Church on Friday, December 10, 2021 at 11am with burial immediately following at Lakeside Cemetery, Lake Odessa, MI. Funeral will be live-streamed on Koops Facebook page.
Memorials may be given to Lakewood United Methodist Church, VFW Post 4461, or Spectrum Hospice.
