Thomas B Barker

He was born on January 20, 1947 to William and Geraldine (Wright) Barker in St. Johns, MI.  He was a 1965 graduate of Lakewood High School. Tom worked for GM until his retirement in 1997. On September 6, 1969, he married Dianne Thorp. Tom was extremely proud of his boys, coaching them in all their sports. Tom was an avid Golfer having 6 hole in ones.  He also enjoyed working out at the local gym where he reached a bench press of 405lbs. 

Tom is survived by his loving spouse of 47 years Dianne, two sons, Steve (Jodi) Barker, Brent (Shannon) Barker; five grandchildren, Brandon, Brooke, Ella, Kara, Maya; two brothers, Bill (Claudia) Barker, Chuck (Margaret) Barker; two sisters, Emilene (Ken) Vogel, Mary (Mike) Richardson; sisters in law, Betty Barker and Carole Barker; brother in law, Richard (Tammy) Thorp, along with many nieces and nephew.

He was preceded in death by parents, William and Geraldine Barker, brothers, Don Barker and Fred Barker, sister in law, Donna Thorp, parents in law, Kenneth and Ruth Thorp.

Visitation will be held Monday, January 16, 2017, 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm & 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Koops Funeral Chapel, Inc., Lake Odessa, MI.   

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2017, 1:00 pm at the Outreach Christian Church, Lake Odessa, MI, with Fred Lab, officiating.
