William C. Wieland

William (Bill) C. Wieland, age 89, of Freeport, passed away Saturday, December 18, 2010 at the Eaton County Medical Care Facility. He was born on November 4, 1921 in Freeport to Charles and Cletus (Winey) Wieland. He and his wife Ayleen (Broadbent) were married for almost 65 years and had four children. Bill enjoyed playing softball, bowling, crafts, dancing the Polka and listening to music. He and Ayleen enjoyed spending winters in Arizona for 22 years. Surviving is his wife, Ayleen Wieland; sons, Terry (Cynthia) Wieland, Bob (Pam) Wieland and Rich Wieland; daughter, Diane (Don) Geese; 6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Visitation with the family will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Monday, December 20, at the Koops Funeral Chapel in Lake Odessa. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 21, at the Calvary Grace Brethren Church, 13700 84th St. SE in Alto with Pastor Brian Auten, officiating. Interment to follow at Bowne Mennonite Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Bill's name may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association or Calvary Grace Brethren Church.
