

Beck was born in Chicago on September 15, 1933 and was raised from 1942 in Neenah, Wisconsin.
He was a 1951 honors graduate of Wayland Academy and a 1955 honors graduate of Princeton
University, where he was a member of Tiger Inn. After college he served three years as a USAF
Lieutenant, mostly on Cape Cod.
Beck's career was in financial services. He was a San Francisco stockbroker 1959 - 1963.
He then returned to his home area to serve the First National bank of Appleton (WI),
mostly as vice president, from 1963 to 1973. In 1973 he relocated to Broward County, Florida where for ten years he was
either EVP or president of two community banks. Over all these years he was heavily involved in a multitude
of community activities and services. He concluded his formal career by returning to investment sales
with the South Florida branch offices of several national firms from 1982 to 1988.
He was the author of two published books: "The World's Most Valuable Investment Strategy" (1990)
and "Peter Edge" - His Family and His War" (1994). During his extensive research on the
latter book he held a part - time job at a local self-storage facility.
Beck was divorced once (Bridget Cosgriff 1967) and widowed once (Judy Cripe Stellberg 2004).
He is survived by three children: Kristin Stellberg-DeVillo of Middleton, Wisconsin;
Burt Beck Fisher III of Denver, Colorado; and Charles Cosgriff of Holte, Denmark. There are five grandchildren. He is further survived by his loving companion, Audrey Wilkinson.
Beck's remains area being cremated. There are presently no services or visitations planned.
