

Byron Jerome Holley was born on April 13, 1931, in Kershaw, SC, and his full and meaningful life came to a peaceful end on August 3, 2024. He was born to Minor and Ellie Holley and was the seventh of nine children. At an early age, he professed his faith in Jesus Christ and joined Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1951 and served four years stationed in Nagoya, Japan, during the Korean War, where he rose to the rank of Staff Sergeant.
Upon returning stateside, Byron joined Pratt & Whitney Aircraft, where he worked on rocket engines throughout the glory days of the Apollo and Space Shuttle missions for 35 years. In 1958, Byron married Ruby Roberts of Kershaw, SC. They both became members of Haverhill Baptist Church in the spring of 1959. Together, they lived in West Palm Beach, where they raised two daughters, Donna White and Denise Baldwin. Byron and Ruby went on to become grandparents of three grandchildren: Erick, Mackenzie, and Nicole.
Byron was active in Haverhill Baptist Church, serving in several areas. He was known as a jack of all trades, always generous with his skills and a lifelong tinkerer. He was kind, patient, faithful, and deeply respected. Byron was a loving family man devoted to his wife of 65 years.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 6, at Dorsey - E. Earl Smith Funeral Home at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation to Haverhill Community Church, 671 N Haverhill Road, West Palm Beach, FL 33415.
