David Ray Boston

¿TIENE UN RECUERDO O UNA CONDOLENCIA QUE AÑADIR?

AÑADIR UN RECUERDO

Dave was not only my boss, but he was also my friend. He was such a great man who knew so much about everything and I really looked up to him. These past three years were really special and I learned so much because he always challenged me to be my best even when it was difficult. I am so blessed and privileged to have spent these years with him. In times like these I find comfort in Psalm 23-

The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures; He leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul; He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for Thou art with me; Thy rod and Thy staff, they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies; Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
Though we may have lost Dave, I know heaven is a better place with his spirit in the arms of God

Biografía

David Ray Boston was a caring and loving man who would do anything he could to help a friend or family member or even a stranger. Friends and family would describe him as a thoughtful person who had tremendous problem solving abilities. David was one of the hardest working dedicated man most will ever know. He was the one everyone called when something wasn't working and he would fix or find the answer to whatever came his way. Some even said he was a genius. David loved to imagine the possibilities of life and to go to places and enjoy life; however he always said he preferred sleeping in his own bed.

David was born on May 25th, 1959 at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, North Carolina. He was the son of Susie Katherine Adams and Theodore James Boston. He grew up in Charleston, West Virginia. He loved his family and in his early years wanted to know how everything worked. Like most David was involved in Cub Scouts and was a crossing guard at school and attended youth groups. He attended Woodrow Wilson and was featured in there school news in 1973, they reported how he built radios and worked on stereos and electronic toys and transformers and even integrated circuit tracers and how he had taught himself how to do things and loved his hobby. It also said how he had been doing this for years before this article was written.

David attended Stonewall Jackson High School while there he was in the orchestra and the marching band where he was the leader of the drums and percussion section. David was also in a band where he played the drums and did the set up for the band. While in high school his love for how things worked grew as he also attended Ben Franklin Career Center in Dunbar, West Virginia, for electronic and electrical training.

When he wasn't at school he could be found helping his father at Boston's Gulf Service at the corner of Washington and Brooke Street in Charleston WV. David attended and earned his Electronics Degree and was hired at Black Rock at the age of twenty by Art Fowler and Mike Slade in May 1979. At Black Rock, David learned the ins and outs of every part of the asphalt plants. In 1983, Black Rock moved there best down to West Palm Beach, Florida to Ranger Construction and David was among those chosen to make that move. Upon his arrival in 1983 he met Tina Marie Witte and after six years they were married on July 22, 1989 at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Lake Worth, Florida. It did take awhile before they were married however they started a journey for life filled with fun and laughter and adventures around ever corner. They loved each other and the time they had together. David and Tina would travel to West Virginia many times over the years to take care and spend time with his mom and family. The travels in WV were always David's favorite, here are a few: New River Gorge, Luray Caverns, Ruby Falls, Blenko Glass, Mammoth Cave, Mystery Hole, Hawks Nest, The Greenbrier and The Bunker (which was hidden underground and was a secret government project to house the entire House and Senate and Executive Branch in an emergency). Green Bank was something David said he had waited 40 years to see. One of David's favorite places to visit was the capital of Charleston, West Virginia. Of course when in Florida you also have to visit Disney and Epcot where Tina and David spent their honeymoon. They also visited NASA and Bahamas several times.

Family and friends were very important, David had many friends he worked on all Rangers Construction's plants across the State Of Florida and anywhere David traveled friends were always close. David also loved Star Trek and Godzilla, he could watch them over and over. You might also find him at Skycraft Parts and Surplus in Winter Park, Florida, he could spend hours in there exploring everything in the whole store. David loved helping others and was always willing to join in. The president of Ranger Construction, Mike Slade said David was a genius and could never be replaced. He mentioned a time he asked David about his messy areas at the plant and finally after several years of watching him find and fix everything from those areas which saved them millions he told David he had won. He said you win and can keep your stuff how you want it, noting David knew where everything was all he asked for David to lock the door so no one else could ever enter his office and storage work rooms. David worked at Ranger for forty plus years as an electrician and electronic technician. Basically if it had electricity he could fix it. David was a dedicated and valued employee and was respected by his colleagues for his ability to grasp and understand difficult things and make them work. David loved his job but he also liked down time to spend with friends and family, we always enjoyed cousin Bonnie Adam's visits and Daytona Speedway with Mike and Tina Reed, Frank and Linda Shoemaker traveling to so many places you cant list them. Zack and Darlene Myers were from WV as well and took care of the Stuart plant. David's main work unit with Johnny Hughes, Jeff Hart, Jared Norman and his partner in crime the last three years Monte Dubois Jr. They kept all the plants across Florida running from Key West, Miami, Pompano Beach, West Palm Beach, Stuart, Fort Pierce, Debary, Bartow, Orlando to Ocala.

Most important in David's life was he believed and accepted Jesus as his personal Savior. He believed Jesus died on a cross for our sins and believed asking for His Forgiveness for our sins gave us the Grace we needed to have life in Heaven after we leave this life. This means we will see David one day when it is our turn to meet our Maker.

David Ray Boston passed away from this life on September 14, 2019 while at the Hampton Inn in Ocala, Florida. While working in Ocala and after returning from dinner to the Inn he had a heart issue that took his life. He is survived by his wife, Tina Boston and many extended family members and friends. Services were heled at Dorsey E. Earl Smith Funeral Home in Florida and at Casdorph and Curry Funeral Home in West Virginia. David's final resting place is at Cunningham Memorial Park in St. Albans, West Virginia.

Those who knew and loved David will miss him dearly and will keep close to their hearts all the many wonderful memories they have shared with him.
