After High School, he joined the Navy serving on the USS Prebble in the Pacific. After he was discharged, he moved home to New Jersey and reunited with his childhood friend, Celeste Holzapfel. They married in 1966 and moved to Florida in 1971 to open a Carvel Ice Cream store in Lake Worth. They sold the store in 1976 and George went to work at Holsum Bakers in sales and management for over 20 years. After Holsum, George worked a few more years in sales looking forward to retirement.
He is survived by his daughter, Celeste "Estee" Marcks, Esquire, his long time companion, Anita Lorentz and his beloved dog, Otto. He was predeceased by his wife of 34 years, Celeste C. Marcks in 2000. He will also be remembered by his sister, Martha Regina, his brother in law, Gerry Regina, his niece, Barbara Quinn and his nephew, Paul Regina.

"Uncle George" will be missed by Mimi Martin and Jerry Katz, their children, Jay, Teri and Joshua, Richard and Diane Kaufman, their children Sylvia and Michael, and Linda Lucier, her son Bill, and Roland Bourgeois.
George was happy whether at the helm of his boat, behind the wheel of a fast car or watching the boats go by as he smoked his pipe. His love, wit and patience were loved by all. He will be missed by many but never forgotten.
