

Paul attended the Pepperell Public School system. He proudly told people he achieved his PHD, otherwise known as Pepperell High Diploma! Shortly after graduation Paul married his high school sweetheart Priscilla with whom he raised their family. He started his career at Bemis Bag Company in Pepperell MA in the printing department while also serving over 10 years as a volunteer firefighter on the Pepperell Fire Department. For the next 45 years he advanced his career in the Digital Imaging and Graphics Art Industry. He retired in 1996 from ECRM (Tewksbury, MA) as Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. He and Cilla traveled the world during his extensive career.
His early retirement allowed him to enjoy his passion for golf and his family. For the past 30 years Paul and Priscilla enjoyed being snowbirds living on Lost Lake in Groton MA and spending winters in Atlantis FL. As a man with excellent technical writing skills, quick wit and master of joke telling, he shined best with an audience of family or friends. Paul wrote an article for the Palm Beach Post newspaper ending with “One golf cart and one nonessential automobile, what’s not too love”. He was also published on the cover of Golf Magazine with an article he wrote on the ABC’s of Golf; Alignment, Balance and Coil of the golf swing.
Paul was a member at Groton CC in his early years and then at Nabnasset CC in Westford MA while living in Groton. He was a member of Atlantis Golf Club in Atlantis FL during the winters where he was President of the Board from 2005-2007.
Paul had many lifelong friends with whom he enjoyed close friendships and social activities. He lit up a room with his sense of humor and didn’t shy away from joining a singer on stage whether he was welcome or not. His favorite place at the bar was the corner seat providing entertainment to those around him. He had unlimited sayings that resonated and stuck with many people including his grandchildren who dearly loved their Papa as much as he loved them. “One More, No More”.
Paul is survived by his wife Priscilla (Dow) Markham of nearly 70 years, his children Denise & Garry Largy of Myrtle Beach , SC, Deborah & Michael Kingsley of Freedom NH and Atlantis FL, and Paul & Karen Markham of Groton MA. He had 8 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Mary Jane Dunn of Pepperell MA as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter Donna Marie Markham, his parents and his sister Frances Williams as well as many in-laws.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to a charity of your choice.
