

87, of Lantana, FL, passed away on Monday, October 10, 2011. He had been a resident of South Florida for over 30 years. Before moving to Florida, he lived in New York where he was a Captain of the volunteer Raymond Hose Company. He retired from the Warwick Valley Central School District as lead carpenter.
George was a long-time parishioner and usher at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. He enjoyed living in the Mar-A-Lago Cay community where he was very active. George was very handy and accomplished in masonry and carpentry.
Survivors include his children, Chris (Stephanie) Mondello of Pleasanton, CA, George Mondello of Lantana, FL, and Sarah (Jim) Hulsizer of Melbourne, FL; step-daughter, Kathleen Coates; grandchildren, Jessica, Justin, Allen, Jason, Rachel, Laura, Andrew, Michael, and Eddie; great-grandchildren, Cameron, Alexis, Lauren, and Isaac; sisters, Jaye Mondello, Mary Ann Mondello, and Ann Mondello.
The family will receive their friends from 2 -4 PM and 6 - 8 PM on Thursday, October 13th at the funeral home. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Friday, October 14th at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1000 Lantana Road, Lantana, FL 33462. Mr. Mondello will be laid to rest following the funeral mass at Lake Worth Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to either Hospice of Palm Beach County, American Diabetes Association, or Bascom Palmer Eye Institute.
