Always had a smile on his face when he would see any of us. The best is when we surprised Theo Giorgo when we were in Samos and found him at his favorite kaffeneio in the plateia of Lekka. He was so happy to show us around and to tell us stories of when he grew up. What a great man. He is truly missed!

I will never forget the commitment Theio Giorgo showed to my education.  For as long as I can remember, he monitored my knowledge of Geometry, ensuring that it was up to Samian standards.  When he found out that I was going to study history in university, Theio took it upon himself to check in every so often to establish that I had not lost sight of the best type of history- Greek history.  

May his memory be eternal.

Continuation of " Tribute to My Uncle George"
You loved to enjoy life, and I thank you for the great times we shared.  My favorite was going to the Samiotiko dance with you. You were an incredible dancer, and when we would dance together, we were the spotlight of the evening! Everyone would be looking at us and I felt so special, but it was really you they were looking at, especially when you danced with a full glass on your head. You always seemed to steal the show! You were very considerate of my social life, or lack thereof, and would take me with you and Theia anytime you would go out with your friends to clubs and the bouzoukia. I remember vividly the time we saw Manoli Angelopoulo and you arranged for me to take a picture with him. I was quite impressed with your acquaintances and influence with the celebrities. You also introduced me to the infamous Niko Gounari songs, and to this day, I think of you whenever I hear his songs and actually see you singing…Ena Vradi Pou Vrehe….   Such wonderful memories, thank you. 
Uncle George, you were such a great human being, generous, brilliant, and larger than life kind of character – a pillar to the Tsakon family, an idol to your sisters, who treasured you. We thank you for all you have given us. We have been blessed to know you. We’ve been enriched by your ideas and inspired by your courage. We will miss you dearly and will always carry you in our hearts and minds. And we will honor your spirit, compassion, and dedication in all that we do.Such a loss to our family, friends, and the entire communities in Montreal, Palm Beach, Philadelphia and Samos.   Wherever you have been, your name is remembered; you have left a void that will never be filled.

Tribute to My Uncle George
1/26/19
Today marks the three-month memorial of your passing. Your memory will be eternal, Uncle George.  I still can't believe I am writing a tribute because of your passing. ... Uncle, you were and will always be an inspiration to myself, the entire family and anyone who knew you. Uncle George, you were more like a father to me. I have so many fond memories of you and your impact on my developmental years, that have shaped me, and I will cherish them forever.  Like the time you scolded me while I was a cashier at Save Way, mind you, I was only 13 years old, and I charged 32 cents for a jar of baby food, when the price was 2 for 65 cents. You made me understand the value of basic business economics and why I should have charged 33 cents. You also encouraged me, in your own special way, to learn the multiplication table. You were always available to help and give advice, even if we didn’t ask for it; and, if we chose not to heed your words, we’d get a “Houya tou Yiamak!”  Now, I realize the value of your wisdom!  Thank you for your love and valuable lessons.

To My Grandfather (Παπού), 

Your presence in my life was irreplaceable. You always reminded me of how much you loved me and went the extra mile to prove it. You sacrificed so much so that I could become the successful man I am today. Although you physically left us too soon, your spirit and memory will live on through all of the great memories we have shared. I hope wherever you are is at least as beautiful as Lekka.
