

A devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, George Tsakon, age 83, passed away Friday, October 26, 2018. George was born February 15, 1935 to John and Pagona in the town of Leka on the island of Samos, Greece. At the age of 19, he migrated to Montreal, Canada where he met his loving wife Ekaterini and started his beautiful family. George has been a resident of West Palm Beach since 1979. A savvy businessman and restaurateur, he owned and operated The Royal Greek Restaurant alongside his brothers-in-law. He lived his life to the fullest, always dancing, hunting, traveling, and celebrating with his family and friends. He will be dearly missed.
Beloved husband of the late Ekaterini, beloved father of the late John, and beloved brother of the late Maria, George was also preceded in death by his brothers-in-law Peter, Nicholas, Argiris, and Dionysus, sisters-in-law Alexandra, Margarita, Argiroula, and niece Argiroula.
George is lovingly rememberd by daughter Peggy and son-in-law Denis Rainho, grandsons George Tsakon and Anthony Rainho, and sisters Irene, Athena, Angeliki, Gramatiki (Andreas), Evangelia (Angelo), and Matina. He will also be forever remembered by many loving nephews, nieces, cousins, and numerous friends.
Friends may visit from 6:00 - 9:00pm on Tuesday, October 30th at Dorsey-E. Earl Smith Funeral Home, 3041 Kirk Road, Lake Worth, FL. A trisagion service will be held at 8:00pm. A funeral service will take place 10:00am on Wednesday, October 31st at St. Catherine Greek Orthodox Church, 110 Southern Blvd., West Palm Beach, FL 33405. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the family that will be collected and sent to the St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church from George’s hometown of Leka, island of Samos, Greece.
