
Helen passed away peacefully in the care of the American Finnish Nursing Home on Jan. 25, 2011. She was born in Bellevue, Ohio to Noah and Blanche Euler on February 24, 1915. She worked for the Social Security Administration and enjoyed her work helping people obtain benefits. She moved here in 1943, and met Clyde “Whitey” Wilson when he was stationed at Morrison Field in the US Army Air Corps. They married in 1946 upon his return from duty in Europe, and settled in West Palm Beach. Whitey passed in 1984, and Helen was blessed to reunite with a high school classmate, Morris Shepherd in 1994. They married, and spent 16 happy years together. Morris predeceased her in 2010.
Helen is survived by her son, Craig E. Wilson (Ilene), brother, Dr. Robert D. Euler and granddaughters Jennifer Olsen (Chris), Shannon Palmeri (Glen), and other loved members her extended family. Despite her struggle with Alzheimer’s, she maintained a cheerful attitude to the end. She was a member of United Methodist Church of the Palm Beaches, and was active in the Women’s Circle and Sweet Memories Choral group. She also volunteered for the American Cancer Society.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday Jan. 29, 2:30 pm at United Methodist Church of the Palm Beaches, 900 Brandywine Rd, West Palm Beach Florida, 33409. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to Hospice of Palm Beach County, or the American Cancer Society, or the New Sanctuary Fund of the Church.
