Joe Q. Henry, a faithful, honest, selfless, thoughtful, Christian, proud American, and kind individual, passed away on November 10, 2025, at the age of 92. Born on August 23, 1933, in Pahokee, Florida, Joe was a native of South Florida and a graduate of Palm Beach High.
Joe served his country by enlisting in the Air Force for four years during the Korean War. After his military service, he worked in the home building industry to include sales, kitchen design, developer and general contractor of new homes.
For 68 years, Joe was married to his beloved wife Margaret. He was a proud father of two children, Scott Anthony Henry and Leslie Guerrero. Joe was a great Papa to his grandsons, Scott Joseph, Michael Joseph, Matthew Luis, Kyle Lawrence, and Joseph Anthony. He was also a great grandfather to Rhea and Athena Henry, and Olivia and Owen Guerrero.
Joe was an excellent golfer, and played it his entire adult life. He was a founding member of Mayacoo Lakes Golf and Country Club. Joe also loved fishing, both fresh and salt water since early childhood. In his early adulthood, he was also a great bowler. During his marriage he and his young wife enjoyed traveling to many places. Later he and his family created great memories traveling to the Bahamas and the Carolina mountains.
Active in his community, Joe was a member of AGC (the Association of General Contractors), a member of the Home Builders of Palm Beach County, and a member of the Community Jaycees. He also served as an Elder at Bethany Christian Church.
Joe was known for his honesty, kindness, and respect for others. He loved his wife dearly, never missing a day without a kiss good morning and a kiss good night. He was a thoughtful father who would surprise his daughter with flowers at work, and always asked his son everyday how his day was. A dedicated family man, Joe never missed a game his children and grandchildren played, always cheering them on with enthusiasm, yelling from the stands, “you the man”.
He was a man of team work and honesty; often sharing sayings like “many hands make light work”; and “all you have is your word, so you want to keep the promises you make”. He taught responsibility and respect for elders and one another, and believed in the power of a smile.
The family expresses gratitude to local Hospice organizations, especially Vitas, for their kind and caring support.
