Kirsha Kensine Labbe was born on January 29th, 1973, at St. Joseph hospital in Kingston, Jamaica to proud parents Marjorie May Davis and Walter Eton Davis Sr. Kirsha spent her formidable years in Jamaica, West Indies and migrated to Jamaica Queens, NY in March 1980 with her parents, older sister and best friend Antoinette Davis and younger sister Melanie Roger. The family then moved to Niagara Falls, NY where she attended Catholic school.
Kirsha loved learning and excelled in her schooling. She loved to help her little siblings Melanie and Walter Davis in their schoolwork and many occasions doing their grade school projects and homework for them to ensure they would excel. Kirsha moved to Palm Beach, FL with her family in 1990 where she finished her high school education at Pope John Paul High School. She then went onto college to attain her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Florida Atlantic University. After graduating, she decided to pursue her Father’s dream of becoming a doctor and attended Ross University School of Medicine where she was top of her class. However, she realized that this was not God’s will for her life when she discovered that she could not physically tolerate the sight of blood. On the pursuit to find God’s will for her life Kirsha ventured into many fields including psychology. Her pursuit proved fruitful when she began to work at South County Mental Health Center in Delray Beach, FL where she realized she loved working with the disadvantaged which ultimately led her into the field of social work where she held several prominent roles. It was in the field of social work where she discovered her passion and that God’s purpose for her life was to help people with disabilities especially children whom she spent her life protecting. Kirsha gave 300% to her clients and took each case personally.
It was also at South County where she met the love of her life Astrel Labbe. It was truly love at first sight with Astrel and Kirsha and after three months Astrel asked Kirsha’s hand in marriage. Kirsha truly began to live life fully when she met Astrel. They were married on June 24, 2000 and were a true example of a God ordained marriage with Astrel putting Kirsha first above all else and Kirsha putting Astrel first above all else. Their union only became stronger as they welcomed their first child and apple of their eye Ashley Kayla Labbe on August 6, 2002. Their family was complete when they welcomed Ashton Kyle Labbe on May 4th, 2008. Kirsha loved her children more than anything in the world, her children were her life! She was their tutor, their protector, their best friend, ultimate soccer mom, their everything. Kirsha made sure her children had the best of everything and that they excelled at everything. It is no surprise that her children quickly rose to the tops of their class and in the field of soccer which is a sport that is a passion for the entire family.
Kirsha was a giver; she gave 300% to all she knew. Her hospitality was unparalleled to none, often delivering fresh baked bread to her relatives and friends. She loved planning events and was a master themed fruit platter sculptor. She was creative. She loved and lived life to it’s fullest. Kirsha was a woman full of faith who put God first and ensured His presence was always in her home. She loved doing her daily devotions and her favorite music was Christian music. She also served as the family counselor always full of wisdom and compassion providing Godly advice to all who were close to her. She lived a blessed life with her family, living a life full of passion and of love. This life was interrupted when she received the heartbreaking diagnosis of cancer in the fall of 2021. Kirsha was a fighter and fought the greatest battle of her life against this adversary. She did so without complaining but through prayer and supplication unto God, giving Him Glory the entire time. Kirsha ultimately lost her battle when God brought his daughter home to be with him on July 14, 2022 at the age of 49.
Kirsha leaves behind her Husband Astrel, daughter Ashley Kayla Labbe (age 19), son Ashton Kyle Labbe (age 14), Father Dr. Walter Davis Sr., Mother Marjorie May Davis, Sister and best friend Dr. Antoinette Davis Scott, Sister Melanie Davis Roger, Brothers: Jason Davis and Walter Davis Jr.; Nieces: Daena Scott, Olivia Davis, Isla Davis; Nephews: Cyrus Davis, Elijah Roger, Isaiah Roger, Aiden Davis, Elliot Davis and Micah Roger.
