Lillian Elizabeth Infantino
Celebrating 100 Years of Living
Lilly was born May 10,1913, in the village of Northport, along the Long Island north shore in New York. Her mother, Providence, was a housewife
and seamstress. Her father, Carmelo Milazzo, owned a shoemaker shop. At the age of seven, her family moved to First Street in Manhattan,
New York. At the age of sixteen, she met Vito Marasia, who she eloped with a year later in New Jersey. One month after they eloped, they were married in the Catholic Church. A year later, her first son, Vince, was born, followed two years later by her daughter, Pauline. In 1941 Lily and Vito moved to 4th Street in Brooklyn, New York. After a short illness, Vito passed away on September 7, 1942, at the age of twenty nine. Lilly became a single mom and began working in the garment district. Eight years later, she met and married Jim Infantino. Gary, the joy of their life, was born a year later. In 1946 lilly fell in love with Florida when she visited her niece, Gloria, in West Palm Beach. In 1960, her family moved to Florida. She enjoyed getting the family together for family dinners. Lilly and Jim joined the Italian American Club where they danced every Friday night. Lilly and Jim had a long marriage celebrating over fifty years of happiness until he passed away in 2001. Dancing was always Lilly's passion, so much so, that at the ages of nine and ten she would crash wedding receptions with friends just to dance. In 2002, at the age of eighty nine, Lilly joined a singles club to meet new people, dance, and travel. She was so popular her dance card was always full.
Centenarians are very special people and Lilly was one of them. Her family which includes three children, eight grandchildren, thirteen great
grandchildren, and five great great grandchildren, was blessed to have her.
