Linda Kay McElroy, born on November 16, 1954, in Kosciusko, Mississippi, passed away on January 29, 2026, at the age of 71. Linda was a beloved, honest, and loyal individual, known for her resilience, thoughtfulness, and devotion. She was cherished by many as a brave, wise, caring, loving, and generous person.
Linda was raised on the family farm in Kosciusko and attended the local Kosciusko High School. After earning her diploma, she pursued a career as an EMT and later served as an assistant store manager for Dollar General. Her passion for flowers led her to start and own Flowers by Gordon. Following the sale of her business, Linda became a stay-at-home wife and mother before retiring.
In February 1984, Linda married Carl Glenn McElroy. Together, they raised two sons, James Kelly Williams II and Stephen Oliver McElroy. Linda's husband, Carl, passed away in 2021. She was a devoted grandmother to Addison Rose McElroy and Lyndsey Elizabeth Williams, whom she adored.
Linda had a deep love for family and animals, especially her dog Mitch. She enjoyed being surrounded by family and friends and always welcomed the opportunity to go out to dinner. Her granddaughter was the apple of her eye, and she took great joy in spoiling her.
Living in a community called Brookdale, Linda was an active and vocal member, always advocating for her neighbors. She formed a close bond with her roommate, Effie, who was like a sister to her. Linda's belief in putting family first and her unwavering support for those close to her will be remembered fondly.
