Upon graduating from the Catholic convent in Trinidad at the young age of 17, she entered the United States to attend the San Diego State University where she received her BA Degree in Elementary Education. After moving to Florida, she taught at and later purchased London Daisy Private School which became one of the most reputable private pre-schools in Palm Beach County in the 1970s and early 80s. Upon selling the school, she continued her love of teaching at local schools and later retired when she became a grandmother. Mary’s greatest love was for her family and she was surrounded by her children and grandchildren every day. She spent the past 20 years taking care of her grandchildren in their home and never missed a football, soccer or basketball game. Her love of cooking was enjoyed during family weekend gatherings, vacations and holidays. She felt so blessed to have all of her children and grandchildren living in Palm Beach County and she truly cherished every moment with them. She lived a beautiful life and impacted everyone she knew in her own quiet and caring way.
Funeral Services will be held at St. Rita’s Catholic Church on Saturday, September 20 at 1:30 pm. 13645 Paddock Drive, Wellington, FL 33414. Funeral arrangements are being handled by: Dorsey E. Earl Smith Memory Gardens.
