Robert B Smith

Passed away on September 1 2010 in Lake Worth,Florida.

He was born in Portland,ME. the son of Martin & Lila (Paquin) Smith and was raised in Barre. Robert graduated from Barre High School. He received his BA in English from University of Massachusetts and his Masters in education from Springfield College. He taught english & math for over 19 years until retiring and moving to Florida. He served as a first Lieutenant in the US Air Force from 1952-1954 . He enjoyed the theater,plays,acting & directing. He played the piano in a band high school and college. b He loved the beach at Wells,ME.. Robert was a member of the Mount Zion Lodge of Masons for 59 years, the National Education Assoc. & the retired Teachers Assoc. of CT..He is survived by his two sisters Hilda Whiting of Ohio and Ruth Clark of Barre; several nieces and nephews, among them Richard Clark & his wife Diana and Margaret Marshall & her husband George all of Barre; several great nieces & nephews

A graveside service with full military honors will be held on Thursday, September 9,2010 at 11:00AM in Glen Valley Cemetery. Pillsbury Funeral Home 96 S.Barre Rd. Barre is assisting the family. His funeral arrangements have been entrusted to
