Despite his complicated illness, he always displayed a positive attitude and constantly reminded those he loved and those he newly met of God's blessings.
Sam is survived by his wife Norma of 53 years, his daughter Gwen Burton and her husband Sam Burton, and their three children. His sisters Winona DeBord and Aleta Keating, along with his brother Roger Porter, are also survivors, as well as many other family members.
