

Daniel “Tix” Edward Estrada, 72 of Bridgeport, Nebraska passed away Saturday, January 1, 2011 at Regional West Medical Center.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, January 7, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Bridgeport with Pastor Leanne Thompson officiating. Cremation will follow the service. Inurnment will be at Chaulk Creek (Hackberry) Cemetery at a later date.
Visitation will be Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Bridgeport Memorial Chapel.
Memorials maybe given to the family to be designated at a later date.
Tix was born on April 10, 1938 in Bridgeport, Nebraska to Benjamin and Rose (Clay) Estrada. He attended Bridgeport high school and graduated with the Class of 1958. He married Janet Dugger on August 30, 1957.
Tix worked at Gambles, owned Western Nebraska Dairy Equipment, and was general manager for Kath Broadcasting Assoc for a number of years in many local towns. From 1995 until his death, he owned and operated Bluffs Shoe Service in Scottsbluff.
He was a member of Bridgeport Eagles-Arie 2813 of which he obtained Golden Eagle status and was a past member of the Fire Department.
Tix loved attending all his grandchildren’s activities, and never missed an opportunity to brag about them. He was an avid Husker fan, and loved talking politics. Tix had an opinion on many subjects and was not shy to let you know it. He loved his family and will be sadly missed my all who knew him.
Survivors include his wife, Janet; children: Jody Estrada of Evergreen, Carrie (Todd) Harless of Bridgeport, Chuck (Chris) Estrada of Sidney and Mark Estrada and special friend Tina of Baltimore, MD; daughter-in-law Jennifer Estrada of Sidney; grandchildren: Casey and Nichole Harless, Candace Harless and fiancé Joe Panas, Jordan Estrada, Richard Estrada, Joshua Estrada, Dru Estrada and Jakob Estrada; two great grandchildren: Tyler and Alyvia Harless; brothers and sisters: Benjamin Frank (Jeanette Estrada of Scottsbluff, Bernice Franco of Scottsbluff, Della (Jerry) Perez of Broadwater, Don (Josie) Estrada of Ralston, Nebraska, Dwaine Estrada of Georgia, Rita Harris of Jacksonville, FL, Delores (Barry) Moore of Georgia, Ferman (Carolyn) Estrada of Georgia, Joyce (Ted) Hope of Georgia and Les (Marcia) Estrada of Gering, Nebraska; and numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Richard and sister Ruth.
