Bobby Brace Edwards

Jane Brace Edwards, from a family who farmed in Moline, Kansas. Bobby had two older brothers Veryl Edwards and Thomas Edwards and later, a younger sister Nancy Edwards Balloun, and the youngest child Franklin (Bud) Edwards.

Bobby’s immediate family have preceded him in death and were there to greet him on April 22, 2019 as he started his next big adventure; it was a great reunion.

Bobby completed High School in Russell, KS and was the president of his Senior class. He lettered in football and track. Not old enough to enlist with his older brothers, so Bobby started college until he was drafted into Navy Seabees (CB). On May 27, 1946 Bobby was Honorably Discharged and returned to college at Oklahoma A&M, (OSU) in Stillwater, Ok., majoring in Petroleum Engineering. He was in the Blue Key Honor Society and the elected President of the Lamba Chi Alpha Fraternity.

He met the love of his life filling in as a kitchen boy for meal service at the KD sorority house that Margaret(Margie)La Nell Huff belonged to, and on September 5, 1948 they were married in Madill, Ok. Bobby finished college and started his career in the management training program with Cities Service and 30 years later retired from that same company, a third generation oil man.

Bobby is survived by his three boys, Bruce Edwin Edwards, born in 1951 and married to Dalene D’Angelo; Lewis Wayne Edwards, born in 1953; and the youngest son David Lynn Edwards, born in 1959

and married to Tracy McGraw. and his two granddaughters, Erin, who is married to Harrison Duggin; and Courtney who is married to Kyle Kincannon, and his great-grandson Jy.

Bob Edwards was a kind man, a man of integrity, a man who loved his wife, even when she did not know who he was, a great Father, boy scout leader and a loyal friend are only a few of his many traits. His relationship with his G-d was reflected on how he did life, not with words, but with actions.
