Cornelia Marie Vigil, age 92, passed away at her home on August 24, 2016. She was born on May 20, 1924 in Vermejo Park, New Mexico to Josefita and Epifanio Marquez. Cornelia was married to the late Oney Vigil on June 15, 1946. She loved to read her bible, cherished praying and praising the Lord, attending church regularly, spending time with family, enjoyed making quilts, and had a green thumb for growing tomatoes and flowers. She lovingly made gifts of empanadas for the whole family at Christmas time.
Cornelia is preceded in death by her brothers:
Tony and Stella Marquez (of Trinidad: both deceased)
Gene (Rose) Marquez (his wife, Rose (of Trinidad) is still alive)
Manuel and Rosemary Marquez (of Denver: both deceased)
Cornelia is survived and will be greatly missed by her sister Christella (Vic) Cordova, her son David (Cindy) Vigil, daughters Janet (Eddie) Urey, Betty (Ben) Armenta, Sally (Patrick) Millican, ten grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends.
Funeral schedule:
Monday 8/29/16, Viewing will be at Advantage Mortuary: 4-6:00 p.m.,Vigil and Rosary 6-6:30 p.m.
Tuesday 8/30/16, Viewing will be at St. Jude Church: 10-11:00 a.m., Mass at 11:00 a.m. and reception following. Burial will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery at 2:00 p.m.
