Jacqueline “Jacque” Louise (Whitaker) Bland – loving and cherished mother died March 2,2026. Born on February 13,1947 in Denver, Colorado, Jacque was the beloved daughter of Stanley Sr. and Eunice Whitaker.
Jacque was a 3rd generation native of Colorado. She grew up in Denver and graduated from George Washington High School. While in high school she was on the synchronized swim team, (also Called the Water Show). The team won the first place before it ever became an Olympic sport. Jacque went to college at CSU in Fort Collins, Colorado.
Jacque’s greatest joy was faith and family. Jacque was baptized and grew up at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church where she met the love of her life Jim. Jacque and Jim exchanged vows June 16, 1973 starting a journey of love and companionship that spanned over 50 years. Holding Jim’s hand was one of her favorite pastimes, a simple gesture that spoke volumes of their deep love.
Jacque love doing many things like: sewing, Crochet, knitting, Rosemaling, baking Christmas cookies, & getting together with Dameklubb Ladies from the Son of Norway. Jacque was also very involved at Church first at Our Savior’s and then Atonement Lutheran. She served on the Alter Guilt, sang in the Choir, helped teach Adult Ed, VBS and Sunday School, attended the church craft group.
Jacque is survived by her loving daughters Kari Marie and Karen (Adam); her cherished grandchildren Nathan (Kami), Katryna, and Daniel; loved brother Stan Jr (Pam), loved sisters Judy, Janet (Glen), and Joanie; as well as 12 nieces & nephews, and a host of extended family and friends. Jacque is preceded in death by her parents Stan Sr & Eunice Whitaker and her beloved husband James Allen Bland.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at 10:30am, at Atonement Lutheran Church in Lakewood, Colorado. Followed by the inurnment of her ashes in the Church Columbarium, and a reception to follow.
