Martha Morgan Johnson (Marty) was born on April 30, 1932 to George and Rebecca Morgan in Hinsdale, Illinois. She had an older sister, Jean. Marty had an idyllic childhood and was the head cheerleader and dated the quarterback of the football team. She was also the lead in high school musicals and music remained a huge part of her life. She married Richard Park and had three children with him – Rick, Sally and Jill. They raised their children in Colorado and went on many mountain adventures and camping trips. Marty married her second husband, Bert Johnson, in 1972 and they moved to Evergreen. Bert had three children – Leslie, Karen and Jennifer – who became part of Marty’s family. Marty and Bert loved music and held jazz parties in their mountain home that will be well remembered by all who attended. In her later years, after losing Bert, Marty reunited with Bill Yag at a high school reunion in Florida, and they shared a very special love. Marty is survived by her children, her grandchildren, her great grandchildren, her nieces and nephews. Marty was an avid Bronco fan who cheered on the Broncos to their first Super Bowl victory in San Diego. She loved Anna Maria Island, walks on the beach, watching the sunset, and her glass of scotch at 5:00. She had a warm and loving heart and always provided love and encouragement to those around her. The world was a better place because of her. We will always remember her and carry her in our hearts.
