On March 3, 2014 Nancy Sortino passed away. She was 71 years old. She was a devoted wife to Salvatore Sortino; beloved mother to Nadean Schneider and David Gaines; devoted grandmother to Malcolm, Samual, and Virginia Schneider; great-grandmother to Gabriel Flores-Centeno and godmother to Alexandra Hurza; adopted mother to Brigette Adams; mother of the heart to Jacki Dilg, Laura Brown, and Victoria Trujillo; and lovingly, Nanners to Aadrian Velasquez and Khananart "Katy" Coven.
Nancy was born in Alexandria, Virginia and moved to Denver in 1969. In 1974 she met Sal and they were married in 1977. They just celebrated their 36th anniversary!
Nancy was a woman of faith and served as communion minister for St. Francis de Sales for at least two decades. She was very active in her church community and was very loved and respected.
Nancy was kind and open hearted, stubborn and opinionated... and we loved her for that!
She was my father's rock and his life partner.
She was my best friend and hero.
She will be deeply missed but loved forever.
