Anthony Paul Colazzo

Anthony Paul Colazzo, age 90, of Lakewood, New Jersey passed away on Thursday January 25, 2018, at the Ocean Medical Center in Brick, NJ. Anthony was born May 16, 1927. He was a longtime resident of Lakewood,NJ before moving to Toms River in 2017. Anthony previously served in the Italian Navy and was a demolitions expert and diver. He was a founding member of the Italian American Club in Jackson, NJ. Anthony enjoyed making homemade wine,he was a gardening enthusiast, as well as an excellent poker player, and was also an semi-professional soccer player in Italy. Anthony was a faithful parishioner of St. Mary of the Lake Church in Lakewood, where he served as an usher for many years.

Anthony is survived by; a daughter Susan Doyle and her husband Jim; three sons Richard Colazzo, Jerry Colazzo and his wife Debbie, and Anthony Colazzo; and three siblings, Yole Lazzari, Geraldo Colazzo and his wife Pina, and Teresa Astore; six grandchildren, Ashley Walker, Jamie Doyle, James Doyle, Jr., Anthony Colazzo, Trevor Colazzo, and MaryKate Doyle; and a great-grandchild, Declan Walker; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.

Anthony was preceded in death by his wife Rose Colazzo; a brother, Pippetto Colazzo; and a sister, Fedora Duma.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday at the D'Elia Funeral Home, 1300 Vermont Avenue, Lakewood, NJ 08701. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m on Tuesday, in the St. Mary of the Lake Church, 43 Madison Ave., Lakewood, NJ 08701. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
